Streak couple's love affair with club is over - for life

A Manchester City-mad couple who said they streaked across a pitch in a bid to boost their team's dismal performance, have been banned for life by the club.

Mother-of-two Kelly Mills, 26, and her boyfriend Karl Dixon, 31, pleaded guilty to running semi-naked on to the Maine Road pitch at Manchester City Magistrates Court.

Laura Glendining, prosecuting, said the couple had received a letter from Manchester City football club banning them from the stadium for life.

The pair, both from Glossop in Derbyshire, were banned from attending any of the club's matches in the country or abroad for three years by District Judge Alan Berg after they pleaded guilty to an offence under the Crime and Disorder Act.

The court heard how Mills stripped to her knickers and her partner wore just a City shirt as they ran onto the ground during the team's match against Arsenal last week.

They said they had streaked to liven up the game because their side were losing 4-0.

The judge told them: "You may think that the human frame is a thing of beauty, but your views may not be shared by others - particularly people who were at the game with young people."
