Two goals mid-way through the second-half ended Harps' nine match unbeaten run to move Derry a step closer to securing their Premier Division status.
Darren McCready put Derry in front from the penalty spot on 64 mintues after he had been brought down in the box by Paddy McGrenaghan.
Stephen Parkhouse punished a goalkeeping blunder by Gareth Downey to shoot home the second ten minutes later to leave Harps rooted in the relegation zone.
Kilkenny City 1 Cork City 4
Cork came from behind to make it five wins on the spin and stay on course for Europe.
Mick O'Byrne gave already relegated Cats a shock lead when drilling in from 20 yards on 15 minutes.
But Cork were level seven minutes later when Ollie Cahill's free-kick wasn't cleared and Kelvin Flanagan forced the ball home.
Derek Coughlan headed Cork in front from a Cahill corner on 60 minutes.
Flanagan then fired home his second from a penalty four minutes later before Barry O'Neill put through his own goal from a Cahill cross in injury time.
Longford Town 2 Galway United 1
Longford guaranteed Premier Division football next season with goals either side of half-time laying the foundation for this win.
Stephen Gavin put Longford in front seven minutes before the break from Alan Murphy's super cross.
Stuart Holt added a second on 54 minutes from a penalty after Vinny Perth was sent tumbling inside the area.
Billy Clery scored an 84th minute penalty for Galway after Stephen Kelly fouled Darragh Sheridan.
UCD 1 Shelbourne 2
Stephen Geoghegan scored a last minute penalty as Shelbourne moved six points clear after this win over luckless UCD.
Robert McAuley handled and Geoghegan stayed cool to score from 12 yards.
Pat Fenlon shot Shels in front on 33 minutes after Tony McCarthy headed on a James Keddy cross from the left.
But Clive Delaney scored from close range to level from a McAuley cross on 64 minutes before Derek Swan had a goal disallowed for pushing minutes before Shels stole the points.
