Soccer: Solano charged with drink driving

Newcastle's £2.5m midfielder Nolberto Solano has been charged with drink-driving.

He was stopped by police on his way home to the Little Benton estate on the outskirts of the city.

Solano was arrested and charged with driving with excess alcohol.

He has been bailed to appear at Newcastle Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 10.

The Peru international was stopped by police as he drove his BMW through Gosforth in the early hours of Friday morning.
