UEFA Cup: Spanish police arrest seven Liverpool fans

Seven Liverpool fans have been arrested in Barcelona, after trouble flared ahead of the Uefa Cup semi-final.

A Foreign Office spokesman says the fans were held in custody overnight, for alleged public disorder matters.

Two Spaniards were said to have been attacked, when violence broke out near the Opera House.

Liverpool have 3,000 tickets for the match.

The atmosphere in the city was calm at lunchtime, with just hours to go before kick-off.
