Charlie McCarthy, father of Ireland soccer manager Mick McCarthy, has died in hospital in Yorkshire.

Charlie McCarthy, father of Ireland soccer manager Mick McCarthy, has died in hospital in Yorkshire.

Charlie McCarthy, from Tallow in County Waterford, had been ill for some time and had been visited in hospital by his son on Monday, who skipped a press conference in Dublin to make the visit.
