Barcelona’s Brazilian star Rivaldo has revealed he is "flattered" by Manchester United’s reported interest in him.

Rivaldo was reacting to reports that Barca president Joan Gaspart is claiming United have made a British record £22m bid for last season’s world player of the year.

The Spanish giants could cash in on Rivaldo at the end of this season to fund a rebuilding programme after their slump in the league following their shock Champions League exit.

"It is flattering to be linked with a club like Manchester United," Rivaldo said.

"I would only leave Barcelona for three clubs - Manchester United, Juventus or AC Milan.

"When I signed my new improved contract at Barcelona I handed over the rights of my future to them and I will abide by any decision they make."
