Soccer: Lazio's Medved handed three-match ban

Lazio midfielder Pavel Nedved has been banned for three European club competition matches by UEFA following a knee-high foul on Leeds defender Alan Maybury in last week’s Champions League clash.

The foul, which was not spotted by the referee, came in the dying stages of the game at Elland Road which ended 3-3. But UEFA’s control and disciplinary body handed out the ban to the Czech after studying video evidence.
