Soccer: Ferguson 'hopeful' of Barthez recovery
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is hopeful goalkeeper Fabien Barthez will be fit for the Champions League quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich.
The France number one has had a second scan on his troublesome thigh and Ferguson is awaiting the result.
Blackburn and Ireland keeper Alan Kelly has been linked with a loan move to United following injuries to Barthez and Raimond van der Gouw, who has had a knee cartilage operation.
"Fabien has had another scan and I am still hopeful he will be OK for the Bayern match," Ferguson said.
