Soccer: PSV and PSG could be banned from Europe

PSV Eindhoven and Paris St Germain could be banned from taking part in future European competition when a UEFA disciplinary committee meets tomorrow.

Both PSV’s and PSG’s European games - against Kaiserslautern in the UEFA Cup and Galatasaray in the Champions League respectively - were marred by serious crowd trouble last week and the governing body is expected to impose serious penalties.

The clubs can expect at least a heavy fine, but a ban would be a disaster, especially for PSV who, by sitting proudly on top of the Eredivisie, can expect Champions League football next season.

PSV have already been warned by UEFA this season following crowd trouble in their Champions League clash against Anderlecht.

The club has banned several fans from attending their matches for their role in the Kaiserslautern game shame.
