Real Madrid suffered a rare Primera Liga loss last night, but remained firmly in control of the title race after all their main rivals were beaten at the weekend.

Real were beaten 1-0 away at Real Mallorca by a 40th-minute goal from Alberto Luque but are still five points clear at the top as second-placed Deportivo La Coruna and third-placed Valencia also lost.
