Former Irish forward, John Aldridge has resigned his position as boss of Tranmere Rovers after the teams 3-2 defeat to Barnsley today.

The defeat leaves the club on the bottom of the table in the first division, but Aldridge’s decision comes as a major surprise, after he lead them to the quarter-finals of this year’s FA Cup.
