Niall Quinn has pulled out of the Ireland squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Cyprus and Andorra because of persistent back problems.

The move means Spurs utility man Gary Docherty is almost certain to partner Robbie Keane up front.

Mick McCarthy has also refused to rule out the possibility of drafting in Middlesbrough's Keith O'Neill.
