Soccer: O'Byrne under pressure to resign

The pressure on Bernard O'Byrne to resign is increasing following the collapse of the Eircom Park project.

At a meeting last night of the board of management of the Eircom League, a call was made to suspend O'Byrne on full pay pending an inquiry into the stadium venture.

The association's board of management are to meet on Friday where they could ask for his resignation.
