Authorities in Cyprus today gave the go-ahead to the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier on the island despite initial fears over foot and mouth disease.

The Cyprus Football Association said they had confirmed to the FAI that the fixture would take place on March 24th as planned and that Irish supporters were welcome to travel.
