Soccer: Makin set for Ipswich talks

Peter Reid has given Chris Makin permission to talk to Ipswich after snapping up Frenchman Patrice Carteron on loan.

Makin is expected to complete a £1.4m move to the Suffolk club if he can agree personal terms.

But 30-year-old Carteron has already joined the Wearsiders from St Etienne until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.
