New England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson named three Coles in his first squad for the friendly against Spain next Wednesday.

The Swede included Manchester United striker Andy, West Ham midfielder Joe and uncapped Arsenal full-back Ashley in his 31-man squad.

Ashley was one of three new faces, the others being Joe Cole's West Ham team-mate Michael Carrick, Sunderland midfielder Gavin McCann and Charlton left-back Chris Powell.

Eriksson has included Everton defender Michael Ball and has also gone for experience with 34-year-old Manchester United leading scorer Teddy Sheringham also in the squad.

But there is no place in Eriksson's squad for Aston Villa defender Gareth Barry, who has started three of England's four internationals this season - against France, Finland and Italy - and also came on as a substitute in Kevin Keegan's last match in charge against Germany.

It looks like the end at international level for Middlesbrough midfielder Paul Ince and Chelsea hardman Dennis Wise who are not included.

Missing from the squad chosen by Keegan ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Germany and Finland are Tony Adams, who has since announced his retirement from international football, injured Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, Adams' injured Arsenal team-mate Martin Keown, Graeme Le Saux.
