Scottish Cup: Pars draw surprised me, admits Larsson

Celtic striker Henrik Larsson admits that he was disappointed that the side could not kill off Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup.

The Swedish international scored twice before Barry Nicholson hit a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw.

But Larsson accepts that the Pars should not be taken lightly in next week’s replay despite the Hoops' home advantage.

"We didn’t expect it to be easy, but even so I was quite surprised at the way Dunfermline came back at us," Larsson said.

"We do try to battle until the final whistle, and that game just goes to show that it isn’t over until the ref says so.

"I think we were a bit unlucky to throw it away at the end, and I think we’d done enough to deserve the win.

"They played well throughout the game and it took us a while to make the breakthrough. We were quite patient and just kept moving the ball around.

"Chris Sutton played well, and I appreciated the way he kept me in the game with some good passing.

"Those last 10 minutes were a bit hectic, but I do have to say I thought it unlikely that they would come back when I got my second goal a couple of minutes from the end.

"Every time we go up there we get a tough game as Dunfermline have a good mix of talent and hard work in their team.

"We did have chances to finish the game off, and failed. You have to realise that you can’t keep missing chances, because you only get a limited amount."
