Soccer: Ahern 'committed' to national stadium

The Taoiseach has re-iterated his full commitment to the proposed national stadium.

Speaking in the Dail this afternoon, Bertie Ahern said the cost of the stadium to the Exchequer would be in the region of £350m, based on predictions from Price Waterhouse Coopers.

There would also be £150m of private sector investment, he added.

Mr Ahern said that there was no reason why the stadium cannot be completed within the expected five to six year time period.
