Soccer: McDaid renews appeal to FAI on national stadium

Sports Minister Jim McDaid has again urged the FAI to join in the government's plan to build a national stadium.

The renewed appeal comes ahead of a crunch meeting tomorrow which may decide if the FAI forges ahead with plans to build an alternative stadium at eircom Park.

Minister McDaid said it was in the association's interests to become an anchor tenant of the proposed new venture and added they would be very welcome to do so.
