Soccer: I’m going nowhere claims Villa target

Alaves striker Javi Moreno has hit out at rumours that Aston Villa are preparing to pay £5.6million to take him to England.

Moreno has attracted the attention of the Birmingham club after scoring 16 goals in 20 games this season.

‘‘I don’t know anything about it,’’ Moreno said.

‘‘I only want to play and speak on the pitch. Everything else is not my problem.

‘‘I do not want to talk about these things because they do not benefit me at all. I want to finish the season in Alaves and then we will see.’’

He also denied suggestions he may move to Valencia at the end of the season.

A spokesman for Alaves told PA Sport today that they had received no contact from Villa.
