Soccer: Irish U-17s draw with France

Ireland's U-17s held France to a scoreless draw today in the first of two challenge games in Montpellier.

The visitors almost took a surprise lead after 14 minutes when French keeper Moreau palmed away a fierce drive from Tranmere's Sean Thornton.

However, the stalemate continued into the second half when Irish keeper twice saved brilliantly to deny the French victory in the closing minutes.

The two sides meet again at 6pm on Friday.
