An emotional farewell to White Hart Lane: ‘I have known it longer than I’ve known most people’
t’s the camber I remember. Emerging onto the stone terrace at the front of the West Stand and seeing the vast expanse of grass spread out before me, curving away towards the far side. It took my breath away, the size and majesty of it. It was April 8, 1978. Spurs v Bolton Wanderers. Don McAllister, diving header, 1-0, 50,000.
Since then, White Hart Lane has become one of the most familiar places in my life.
