Departing Celtic manager Ronny Deila has backed Republic of Ireland assistant Roy Keane as the man to succeed him at Parkhead.

Deila signed off his Celtic term with a 7-0 win over Motherwell ahead of yesterday’s title celebrations. And before the game he talked about Keane’s credentials to replace him.

“He’s Irish, he has played at Celtic and he knows what the club’s about, so he could be good in the job. I think Roy would have things I didn’t have and maybe I have things he doesn’t have.
