We have no issue with security, says Roy Keane

After he had attended an FAI planning meeting for the European finals, which included information on security, at the team hotel in Dublin on Monday night, Roy Keane and the rest of the Irish camp woke up yesterday to reports of the unfolding horror in Brussels.

“It was just shocking news for us to see it this morning, and obviously our thoughts are with everybody who suffered. It’s horrendous,” Keane said at a lunchtime press conference.

Afterwards, he spoke about his belief that Ireland playing its part in what he hopes will be a memorable France 2016, is precisely what football’s role should be, after the terror attacks in Paris last year and now in the Belgian capital.
