Students of the beautiful game are readying themselves for the biggest week in the third level football calendar, with the 2016 Collingwood Cup up for grabs and the Colleges and Universities Premier League also to be decided.

Cork is the venue for the 102nd year of the Collingwood Cup, the longest surviving all-Ireland soccer competition and one of the domestic game’s most storied trophies.

There have been a number of celebrated Collingwood alumni over the years, from Ireland and Manchester United great – not to mention All-Ireland winner with the Dubs – Kevin Moran, who won the trophy with UCD in 1976, to current Cork City manager John Caulfield who guided UCC to victory in 2011.
