Chris Ramsey hopeful striker Charlie Austin will stay at QPR

QPR manager Chris Ramsey has not given up hope of keeping striker Charlie Austin.

Chris Ramsey hopeful striker Charlie Austin will stay at QPR

Austin is expected to leave Loftus Road following Rangers’ relegation to the Championship and has been linked with Newcastle, Leicester, West Ham and Crystal Palace. Ramsey admits Rangers have knocked back a number of offers for the 26-year-old, who scored 18 Premier League goals last season.

And with QPR believed to be holding out for around £15 million (€21.1m), Ramsey believes the former Burnley frontman could still be at Loftus Road when the new season kicks off.

“There have been offers,” Ramsey said. “There has been nothing concrete. We’ve had offers that we’ve rejected, and we’ve had offers that Charlie himself has not been happy to take on.

“At the moment, he’s a QPR player and he’s working hard in training.”
