Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is confident his best-laid transfer plans will come off over the summer – and joked there will always be room for Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane should he ever leave Real Madrid.

Spurs have produced some progress under the Argentinian coach this season, reaching the final of the Capital One Cup where they lost to Chelsea.

However, the north London club, who travel to Stoke tomorrow, failed to sustain a challenge for the top four in the Premier League, and are currently sixth heading into the final three games. Pochettino, who took charge following an impressive spell at Southampton, is confident Spurs’ scouting work will pay dividends in the summer.
