"Worst-ever" Anfield pitch hampered Liverpool claims Glen Johnson

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson highlighted the Anfield pitch as a factor in the Reds' frustrating FA Cup draw with Blackburn.

The surface is in desperate need of an overhaul and Johnson claimed it is hampering Liverpool's characteristic interplay.

“It slowed us down a bit but we can’t make excuses. We just didn’t play to our best. That happens sometimes. They played well and made it tough,” said Johnson.
