Tim Sherwood’s vow to Aston Villa

Tim Sherwood vowed to banish Aston Villa’s relegation struggles — if they survive this season.

Sherwood’s side are second bottom of the Premier League ahead of tonight’s home midlands derby against West Brom (7.45pm). Sherwood vowed to end the troubled times — if they stay up. “If we can get ourselves out of it, we’re never coming in this situation again. Never. I’m just hoping I’ve got enough time to save the situation.”

Ron Vlaar is a major doubt for Villa tonight with a calf problem.

Meanwhile West Brom boss Tony Pulis will talk to Stephane Sessegnon about diving after the attacker was booked for simulation against Southampton at the weekend.

“I’ve looked at it but I’ll speak to Sess first,” Pulis said. “My stance is that it should not be in the game.”

Sessegnon could be the closest thing Pulis has to a striker tonight with Brown Ideye, Saido Berahino and Victor Anichebe all doubts.
