Luis Enrique refuses to let Barcelona get carried away

Barcelona are keeping their feet on the ground despite cruising past Levante on Sunday for their 11th consecutive win in all competitions.

Luis Enrique refuses to let Barcelona get carried away

The 5-0 victory at the Nou Camp kept Barca one point adrift of Primera Division leaders Real Madrid, who won 2-0 at Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday.

Not since the 2008-09 campaign under Pep Guardiola have Barca won as many games in a row.

However, current boss Luis Enrique is not getting carried away.

He said: “The number of consecutive wins is not important. What matters is that it (their good run) helps us to win titles.

“This victory was a huge boost for our morale as a team and for the players. But the players are by no means overly euphoric. They know how hard it is to win titles.

“I do love seeing that the fans are so euphoric.

“That’s a key factor and makes us feel more optimistic.”

Barca host Malaga on Saturday before travelling to England next week to face Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
