Glenn Whelan furious at Stoke surrender

Ireland international midfielder Glenn Whelan has blasted his Stoke City team-mates after their FA Cup debacle.

Ten-man Stoke were thrashed 4-1 at Championship side Blackburn Rovers and Whelan let rip after an abject display that came after City had taken the lead through Peter Crouch.

He said: “We didn’t want to fight or do the basics. Fair play to Blackburn, they came out and properly dug us out. It was terrible. It was the worst performance I’ve ever seen a Stoke City side put out.
