Helmet spared Cech and Zouma from serious injury

Petr Cech insists his padded helmet saved him and Chelsea team-mate Kurt Zouma from serious injury.

The pair clashed heads in the Blues’ 3-1 Capital One Cup quarter final win at Derby on Tuesday, forcing Zouma to be carried off.

The defender should be available for Chelsea’s trip to Stoke on Monday, though, after being assessed at the iPro Stadium.
