He may have been outshone by clubmate David McGoldrick in Ireland’s 4-1 friendly win over the USA last week but Daryl Murphy remains the star Irishman at Ipswich after his goal earned Mick McCarthy’s men a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

Ipswich had already come from behind to draw level once when Murphy’s towering header hauled the Tractor Boys level again.

Murphy is now the Championship’s joint top scorer with 11 goals and his latest intervention kept his club in fourth place, a point outside the automatic promotion places.
