FAI unveil new ticket initiative to appeal directly to fans

Following criticism of its allocation of tickets for Ireland’s recent game against Scotland, the FAI has unveiled details of a new initiative to facilitate independent supporters.

FAI unveil new ticket initiative to appeal directly to fans

Called ‘Fans Direct’, it is aimed at supporters who either don’t want to join, or don’t have access to, the 23 Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Clubs.

“It will provide a route for independent supporters to apply directly and be considered within this group for away match tickets,” said the FAI. “Tickets will be allocated within the Fans Direct database based on previous match attendance. It is intended that Fans Direct will be included in the current customer base considered for away ticket allocations, including existing ROISSCs, Season Ticket holders, Club Ireland members, FAI clubs and leagues, FAI Sponsors and the official FAI travel partner.”
