Lenihan backed to be Hull hit

David Meyler believes Brian Lenihan has all the attributes required to make a success of his move from Cork City to Premier League Hull City.

Meyler followed a similar path at a similar age six years ago when leaving Leeside to join Sunderland and the Republic of Ireland international has seen first-hand the quality that persuaded Steve Bruce to offer Lenihan a three-year deal.

“He’s a fantastic young talent and hopefully he’ll kick on and do really well. I watched him a couple of times when I went home during the summer and saw Cork City. He’s a terrific player and, please God, he’ll do well.
