Keane’s coolness on Celtic link fails to convince bookies

Roy Keane was last night installed as the bookies’ favourite to be the next manager of Celtic.

Ireland’s assistant manager appeared to pour cold water on speculation linking him to the vacant position earlier this week, saying that he already has “two jobs” — including his ITV punditry — and quipping that he wouldn’t be taking a pay cut for anyone.

However, this has clearly not dampened the belief that the club’s former player is still open to the idea of a return to Celtic Park in a management role, with Keane now even money to succeed Neil Lennon, having originally featured in the list of runners and riders as a 33-1 long shot.
