Chesterfield up after Jay’s double

25-year-old Dubliner and former Galway United winger Jay O’Shea had a weekend to remember as his second-half brace earned Chesterfield a 2-0 win at Burton Albion and promotion to League One.

Chesterfield’s superior goal difference compared to rivals Fleetwood, who could only manage a point against Southend, meant a draw probably would have been enough to take former Sligo Rovers manager Paul Cook’s side up automatically, but O’Shea’s double in the 52nd and 79th minutes made sure.
