The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) have no intention of losing their new assistant manager Roy Keane, despite firm interest from Sheffield Wednesday.

Milan Mandaric, owner of the Championship club, revealed yesterday his intention to seek permission from the FAI to speak with Keane about the managerial vacancy created by the sacking of Dave Jones a week ago.

The former Portsmouth and Leicester City chairman has turned his attention to Keane after an original plan to recruit Neil Warnock last week hit the buffers.
