Ian Baraclough yesterday insisted he’s had no contact with struggling English League One side Notts County after reports in a Nottingham newspaper linked the 42-year-old Sligo Rovers boss with the managerial vacancy.

Baraclough has yet to agree terms on extending his two-year stint at the Showgrounds and is a free agent at the final whistle of Sunday’s FAI Ford Cup final with Drogheda United.

“I spent a big part of my career at Notts, so I have a lot of fondness for the club,” Barraclough, who played almost 250 games for the club, was quoted as saying in the Nottingham Evening Post. “I’m a manager who wants to work at the highest level possible.
