Swansea star Michu rewarded with Spain call

Villa was injured while playing for Atletico Madrid on Saturday night and Michu not gets his chance. Vicente Del Bosque recalled Chelsea’s Juan Mata and left out Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado when he named his latest Spain squad on Friday, but most of the focus was all on Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

Brazil-born Costa, 24, capped twice by his native country in friendlies in March, took Spanish citizenship in July after being left out of the squad for the Confederations Cup and Spain’s FA are set to complete his switch in allegiance. While Costa is not in this squad as the paperwork is yet to be completed, he is sure to be in the next one.
