Trap sweats on Forde fitness

Goalkeeper David Forde is a doubt for the Republic of Ireland’s friendly against Wales in Cardiff tomorrow week.

Forde sustained a knee injury in Millwall’s 1-0 Championship home defeat to Yeovil Town on Saturday and underwent a scan yesterday to assess the seriousness of the injury, according to club physio Bobby Bacic.

The injury is a worry for Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni with the make or break World Cup qualifier double-header against Sweden and Austria now only a month away.
