Wolves striker Doyle yet to attract bidder

Republic of Ireland international striker Kevin Doyle has so far failed to attract a single bid this summer — much to the surprise of Wolves’ manager Kenny Jackett.

Wolves are ready to sell Doyle as they need to cut the wage bill but finding a buyer is proving to be a problem.

Jackett said: “There have been no approaches so there is no news in terms of a transfer out.

“He is a very good professional who has a very, very good pedigree over many seasons. But things have been very quiet with Kevin in terms of approaches.

“I think that there have not been many clubs who have signed players and as August comes it will step up a gear as we work towards the transfer deadline,” added Jackett who has revealed that Doyle will miss today’s friendly against Real Betis due to illness.

Former Cork City star Doyle is one of the big earners at relegated Wolves. He still has two years to run on his deal.
