Reading release Irish trio

The Irish contingent at relegated Reading has been slashed after Royals confirmed yesterday Noel Hunt, Ian Harte and Jay Tabb will not have their contracts renewed.

Hunt, Harte and former Ireland U21 international Tabb were in the Reading squad that earned a return to the Premier League 12 months ago but were largely peripheral figures as the Royals went straight back down to the Championship.

“Every one of the players leaving this summer has played in a part in the club’s recent success and on behalf of the club I would like to wish them all well for the future,” said director of football Nick Hammond.
