Blow for Westwood in Ireland bid

Keiren Westwood has suffered a fresh setback in his bid to become the new Republic of Ireland number one.

Westwood needs games to do that and he is not getting them at Sunderland — just three this season and all in the Capital One Cup.

Now he has been told by Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill he won’t be allowed to leave the club to try and get games elsewhere.
