Injury rules Dunne out until new year

Republic of Ireland international Richard Dunne has now formally been ruled out until next year as specialists struggle to get to the bottom of his groin injury.

The Aston Villa defender has had two operations but neither has cleared up the ailment he sustained at the European Championships.

And manager Paul Lambert said he doesn’t expect him to be available until well into 2013.
