Lion king Gatland has Gilroy in sights

Craig Gilroy’s dream debut for Ireland last weekend has rocketed him into contention for the British & Irish tour to Australia next summer.

Lions head coach Warren Gatland admitted in Cardiff yesterday that the 21-year-old Irishman was now very much on his radar after his try in the 46-24 victory over Argentina.

“Craig Gilroy who was outstanding last weekend and he has put himself into contention. You aren’t going to pick a Lions team based on that one performance, but he has put his hand up and has made us sit up and take a bit of notice,” said Gatland at an adidas shirt launch.
