Meyler’s green dream led him to Hull

David Meyler says that his Irish ambitions loomed large in his willingness to join Hull City on a loan move from Sunderland.

“It’s massive,” said the midfielder, who made his debut for the Tigers in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City.

“I need to play as many games as I can so that when games like this one against Greece come around, I’m fresh and ready to play. The manager sees me playing games and that’s ideal. I want to stay in this squad and that’s part of me playing some games with Hull.”
