Enda Curran was proving a thorn in Harps’ side and after a mazy run in the 32nd minute he almost opened the scoring, only to be denied by Ciaran Gallagher’s stop.

But ten minutes from half-time Gaffney finally broke the deadlock after Colm Horgan’s clever pass.
