McLaughlin secures Derry win

Derry City recorded their first victory at the Brandywell since May 21 following their deserved win over Bohemians last night.

But the Candystripes had to wait until five minutes before the end to guarantee full points, Bohs always in the match as the home side led 1-0 from the 27th minute.

Derry bossed the ball for lengthy spells with Bohs opting to sit deep and break at pace on the counter-attack. But the visitors failed to seriously test Gerard Doherty during the opening period.
