Molloy on mark
Mervue struck the crucial blow after 14 minutes when Jason Molloy volleyed home a Gary Kelly cross from just inside the area.
Mervue came close to increasing their lead within a minute of the restart when Tom King blazed a Pat Hoban cross off the underside of the bar.
Mervue, who were controlling the second-half, added their second goal on 78 minutes when Pat Hoban headed in a Jason Molloy free-kick.
Home substitute Tom Elmes was taken down inside the area four minutes from the end and neatly tucked the resulting penalty away but that was as good as it got for the home side.
